Living in the Promised Land
“Schechem” means SHOULDER. In the Hebrew it’s the Symbol of STRENGTH. It’s not by power nor by might but by His Spirit! Come boldy to the throne of grace where you’ll find grace (strength) to help in the time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
“Moreh” means INSTRUCTION. It’s there, in the presence of God and in His Word that we receive wisdom and instruction. When applied to our lives, we’ll walk in victory, ever increasing in His strength.
CONSTANT CONFLICT exists in the Promised Land. The Canaanites, the Pagan tribes who affliced Isreal throughout history, were in the land. This is a picture of those evils and enemies were continually wrestle against: Lust, envy, jealousy, impatience, intemperance, irritability, touchiness, etc.
CONTINUAL CLEANSING takes place in the land.
Abram built an alter to the LORD, the symbol of worship and place of cleansing. We must come to the altar and die to self-daily, taking up our cross to follow Him.
UNENDING CHOICE resides in the land. Abram pitched his tent between Bethel and Ai. “Bethel” means “THE HOUSE OF GOD.” “Ai” means RUIN. There he made dialy decisions and choices. Abram birthed his choices and decisions through his unwavering dedication and complete trust in God.
Walking hand in hand with God in the Promised Land brings forth our full POTENTIAL. The word potential in the dictionary means: Possible but not yet realized - latent. The inherent ability or capicity for growth, development, or COMING INTO BEING. We often wonder how we can demonstrate the power of God, or how we can become the
Sons of God. God’s plan is to cause that which is possible but not yet realized to become possible. Following Him alone leads us to that place of relized possibilities. Allowing Him to live His life through us is the secret of reaching our full potential. When we connect with His power through the Holy Spirit, signs and wonders follow us (Mark 1:15-16).
The word “potential” also refers to the electrical connection in a force field that causes potential energy. This brings understanding as to why God instructs us to walk hand in hand, not only with Him but also with the rest of the body of Christ. Without becoming one with Him and becoming one with the body, the force field would not connect and couldn’t produce the necessary energy to get the job done. Because of the break in the power line, there wouldn’t be enough power.
Let’s live our lives daily, making the adjustments necessary to fulfill His divine will and mission. Let’s link together in love and watch what God will do when He is the only true “omipotent” one. Omipotent by the way means the fullness of Potential. Infinate in power, unlimited authority — That’s our God.
