The Divine Nature

 www.whirlwindmin.org

Thank God that He has not left us alone to try to walk the Christian walk by ourselves, through a list of rules and regulations.  Rather, when we come to Him and when we partake of His Word, His laws are written in our heart.

Now it is up to us.  Who are we going to yeild to?  His words, which bring life? or to our own desires, our flesh, which brings death.  God’s way is not designed to be difficult for He has paved a plain path for us.  Although in this life we will always have struggles, His Word declares that “many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all”.

As we study the Divine Nature, let’s get ahold of a few nuggets that will bring understanding which will begin to change our thought patterns and bring us into walking in the Spirit.

As we remember, we are not being conformed to this world but being transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Psalms 19:7-8  says “The law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul:  the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.  The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.”

The word “converting” means “restoring”.  The Word of the Lord restores our soul.  God’s Word heals our soul.  It rebuilds our emotional life.  It heals our will and makes it strong in the ways of God.  God wants to heal mankind and the healing He has for us comes from His Word.   We pray, let your will become my will.

Proverbs 4:20-23 reads “My son attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.   Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.  Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.”

The word “health” in this scripture is translated as “medicine”.  The Word brings life and health to those who fill their heart with it.  We are told to guard our heart.  What proceeds out of our life flows out because of what we have allowed into our heart.  If we allow God’s Word to change our heart and thoughts, our whole lives will change.

It’s God’s Word that is full of healing, restoring power.  Psalms 107:20 says “He sent His Word, and healed them, and delivered them from all their destructions.”

Here’s the good news for us — 2 Peter 1:2-4  “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue:  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises; that by these we might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”

God has given us every answer for our lives.  Everything we need for life, for our natural, pratical, physical life and for our spiritual life, our walk with God which is given to us through His Word.

The divine nature is for us and by receiving it, by taking heed to His word.  We are given the enablement to walk the Christian walk and to live by His life.  By receiving His precious promises, then we become partakers of the divine nature.  The word “divine” means “of God”.  The word “nature” means “growth by germination or expansion.”  We become partakers of God’s growth process by assimilating the promises of God into our heart.  What an incredible promise.  God is sharing His life by His Word.  Jesus is the living Word of God.

The life that I now live, I live by the faith of Jesus Christ.

In Him I live and move and have my being.

Christ in me the hope of glory.

Lets walk today in Spirit and in Truth!
